We have exciting news to share! The nation's largest operator of retail store drop-off locations for plastic bags has just given permission for Obaggo users to recycle their disks in their retail store bins!
This is HUGE news, because it immediately provides approximately 18,000 recycling locations (as estimated on plasticfilmrecycling.org) across the United States to Obaggo users, as we work to gain acceptance in curbside recycling programs nationwide.
This system operates in 49 of the 50 states.
This decision was based on the understanding that Obaggo users will be generally following the same guidelines for plastic bag and packaging film recycling as the retail store system, AND, that the Obaggo disks are simply this same recyclable material in compressed form.
Rest assured, this is just the beginning! Obaggo will be working tirelessly to add many more convenient options for recycling Obaggo disks.
There are over 300 Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) in North America, and Obaggo has only just started to gain acceptance at a few.
As recycling locations are established, the new locations will get added to our map-based phone-app, (in development), so you can find them easily.
Maybe they will be drop-off locations at your recycling center or transfer station....
Or, maybe they will be Clothing and Shoe dumpsters authorized to accept Obaggo disks...
Or maybe we'll partner with other national recycling programs...
But our ultimate goal will always remain, nationwide acceptance of Obaggo disks in your curbside recycling bin.
Obaggo is working to provide consumers with as many convenient alternatives for recycling their plastic bag and packaging film disks as possible.
So you can reduce your plastic waste footprint.
And so this valuable resource can be made into good products again.
